Here are a few of our favorite beaches:
Sun Bay
Sun Bay Beach is known for its picturesque palm-lined shores, calm waters, and golden sand. It’s an ideal spot for swimming, picnicking, and taking in the sunset. The beach is also part of a nature reserve, providing opportunities for bird watching and nature hikes. Sun Bay is on the south coast of Vieques, close to Esperanza.

Playa Navio
Playa Navio offers a more secluded and rugged experience. It’s famous for its pristine beauty, rocky outcrops, and strong waves, making it perfect for surfing and bodyboarding. The hike to reach Navio Beach also offers scenic vistas. Navio Beach is accessible via a short hike south of Sun Bay.
Playa Caracas
Playa Caracas is the most accessible beach in the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge. It’s famous for its lush surroundings, crystal-clear waters, and the unique contrast between the azure sea and the green hills. It’s an excellent spot for swimming and sunbathing, and has facilities for barbecuing with grills, picnic tables and shade.
Playa La Chiva
Playa La Chiva is less crowded and offers fantastic snorkeling opportunities, with a variety of marine life to explore just offshore. It’s a great place for a peaceful day by the sea. Shaped like a scallop shell, La Chiva is a series of 25 small cove beaches, which means you’ll have a good chance of securing your own “private” beach.
